PADI Open Water Course – Referral
Here are some common questions regarding the PADI Open Water Referral
What is a referral?
If you have completed part of your PADI Open Water Course but not finished the course and you want to finish your course with another dive center. Some live in cold countries and do the theory and swimming pool training there and decide to do the Open Water dives in a tropical country like here with us in the Philippines. Some just couldn’t complete the PADI Open Water Course because of time restrictions or health reasons.
Prerequisites:
Every single part of your training activities has to be signed off by your PADI diving instructor, either on a dedicated referral form or in your log book. For evaluation and to make sure everything is all right, we ask you to snap a picture of your referral documents and email it to us in advance. Please don’t forget to bring the original referral paperwork and Log Book correctly completed and signed by the Instructor who trained you when you come to the dive shop. Without the proper referral documentation you will not be able to complete your course.
If you just need to do the 4 Open Water Dives to get certified you must have completed the complete theory part and the confined open water / swimming pool sessions of the PADI Open Water Course. Any missing part on your referral form, except the 4 Open Water dives, may result in additional charges.
Duration:
Usually it takes about 2 days to complete the remaining part of the open water course if you have completed the complete theory part and the confined open water or swimming pool session of the course. Please be aware that all PADI courses are performance based and some students may need more time or additional training in order to get certified.
Cost:
If you meet the prerequisites we charge for the 4 Open Water dives and the certification 12,000 Pesos. There are no hidden charges, certification cost, marine park feed and dive equipment rental is included. Costs for other parts of the training course which has not been completed will be evaluated individually.
Remarks:
Please be aware that referrals expire 12 months from the date of the last Open Water Course training segment.
We are looking forward to dive with you. We can promise you warm water and a couple of turtles checking out your buoyancy on your dives 🙂
